Last night we were
DUGG... for an article submitted by our very own Sapphire. Sapphire had responded to a recent blog post by
aetheistium of
Destructoid. Sapphire has some strong feelings regarding girls in gaming...
We submitted
our response to the issue into DIGG yesterday. After about 5 hours, it has hit the front page of the site. Unfortunately, apparently everyone at
DIGG are pigs, and/or sexists; the story was BURIED after about 270. This did however, still give SpawnPoint a huge surge of traffic.
Going into the DIGG, I was really unsure how our
new Linux boxes, and our PHP environment would handle the traffic. However, ServerBeach's hardware really came through and I am happy to report, we passed with flying colors. Over the 20 minutes of digg traffic, our server handed over 12,000 unique visitors, downloading, and linking into our article! Go
PEER 1!
This was our highest load during the peak of the DIGG:22:09:20 up 11 days, 9:15, 2 users, load average: 3.54, 3.34, 3.97
